The UNO -R Agriculture Society celebrated the Feast Day of St. Francis of Assissi through a Feeding of Campus animals and Libertad Strays, October 3.
St. Francis of Assissi is the Patron Saint of Animals and Ecology. To celebrate his feast, Students and Faculty from UNO – R Agriculture Program roamed around the vicinity with their cart filled with meals to feed the mouths of the strays. One hundred and fourteen (114) cats and Sixty eight (68) dogs were fed summing to 182 in total
Banana leaves were used as a plate since it is biodegradable and eradicates the usage of single used plastics.
Sponsor for the event was Falcor Marketing Corporation wherein Sixty 2 kg. packs of dog food and 1 bag of catfood was donated.
The event was followed by a mass and pet blessing in the afternoon which was then celebrated by Rev. Fr. Romeo Ben Potencio, OAR, Rev. Fr. Samuel Eyas, OAR and Rev. Fr. Cristituto Palomar, OAR.
Furthermore, representatives from the College of Business, Accountancy and Computer Studies Student Council (CABACS – SC) also participated in the event.
