ROLEx Project Head and Agriculture Program Head Ma. Corazon Acaba, DVM, MBAH, led the pinning of the “Miraculous Medal” to the passers of the LEA 2019.
To hone the competencies of participants in setting-up e-learning management systems, the Recoletos Online Learning Extension (ROLEx) held a Training-workshop on E-Learning Methodologies, Sept. 12-13 at the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos.
The representatives of AgRecoletos won 1st (Jewel Mae Hortillosa and Jed Paltriguera) and 3rd (Ludy Marie Batobatan and Kenneth Baal) places in Best Poster Presentation during the A+SURE 2019.
It has been a tradition in the School of Agriculture to pay tributes to the graduating students and their parents every year.
The graduating students for these months of March and October attended the retreat facilitated by the Campus Ministry Office, at the CICM Maryshore Bukal ng Tipan Mission Center, Talisay City.
The School of Agriculture of the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos has produced 18 combined graduates of Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
The Recoletos Online Learning Extension (ROLEx), together with the University of Negros Occidental – Recoletos and the School of Agriculture (AgRecoletos), participated in the Panaad Organic Village during the 26th Panaad sa Negros.

As millennials, the perspective of the youth toward agriculture is not as good compared to their outlook on social trends and pop culture. The youth nowadays think that being a farmer is a ‘dirty’ job.
The Recoletos Online Learning Extension will be accepting incoming first year students for the Academic Year 2019-2020.
A new year means another opportunity for a more productive work and positivity for more blessings to come.
The faculty of the AgRecoletos revised the curriculum of the agriculture course for next academic year, January 15.

In the past 10 years, enrolment in degree programs related to agriculture has been declining steadily. There are few students would choose agriculture as a degree to pursue. Most of them would take degree programs that have a high demand for graduates to work abroad or that promise jobs in the city. As a result, very few students from a farming family would even stay in their provinces to continue to manage their family farms or agribusiness.
